The IRS has positions available in our Anchorage location for college students attending any post secondary education institution.

If accepted into the Student Career Experience Program (SCEP), you will:

  • Work full-time during the summer of 2011 and during school holidays
  • Work at least 8 hours per week during the 2011-2012 school year (work schedule is flexible)

SCEP provides you with training and experience designed to develop you for a career as an IRS Revenue Officer. The primary job responsibilities involve collecting delinquent tax debts, obtaining overdue tax returns, conducting research, conducting face-to-face interviews with taxpayers and/or their representatives at their places of business or in taxpayers’ homes, analyzing financial statements, and educating taxpayers on their tax responsibilities. Revenue Officers are assigned an inventory of cases, which provides the opportunity to work varied situations with different types of taxpayers. For the Revenue Officer, no two days will be alike.

Upon successful completion of BOTH your degree program and the minimum work requirement of 640 hours, you may be converted or promoted to a career position as an IRS Revenue Officer.

This would be an excellent opportunity to become a full time federal employee with full federal benefits. The pay wage during this internship is $13.00 an hour.
