Sharon McConnell Gillis, daughter of the late Helen Foster McConnell of Noorvik and the late Russell T. McConnell of Washington, and the granddaughter of the late Lucy and Daniel Foster of Noorvik, has been the Doyon Foundation executive director since April 2002.

As executive director, McConnell Gillis serves on the Interior Area Heath Education Center (AHEC) Advisory Council, the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Native Education at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the Tanana Valley Campus Community Advisory Council, and the Alyeska Alaska Native Program Blue Ribbon Panel. She is also the vice-president of her village corporation, Evansville, Inc., and vice-president of the Fairbanks North Star Borough Board of Education.

McConnell Gillis is an Inupiaq Doyon shareholder originally from Evansville in the Brooks Range. She is the proud mother of four grown children, Baruch, Jessica, Brandon and Emily, and three grandchildren, Rosebud, Curtis and Nicholas.

Doris Miller is the daughter of William Miller of New Jersey and the late Stella Miller of Dot Lake. She is the granddaughter of the late Peter Charles of Tanacross and Doris Charles of Batzulnetas, and the late Peter and Anna Miller of New Jersey.

Prior to accepting the position as scholarship program manager at Doyon Foundation, Miller worked at a Native non-profit organization for 17 years, serving in various programs including community health services, mental health and alcohol programs, quality management and administration.

She and her fiancé, Eric, are the proud parents of three children, Kyle, Kaden and Rania.

Seeyaa’ Charpentier, administrative assistant at Doyon Foundation, is the daughter of Gail and Wally Carlo of Fairbanks. Her grandparents are Poldine and the late Bill Carlo of Fairbanks, and Alvina and the late Bill Fouts of Oklahoma.

Charpentier proudly served in the U.S. Army as a radio operator, receiving an honorable discharge in 2003. She received an associate’s degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2006, and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s in business administration. She and her husband have one daughter, Mia.

Greg Bringhurst, son of Maxine Thibedeau and John Bringhurst of Fairbanks, and grandson of Richard “Shorty” Thibedeau of Fairbanks and the late Ruth (Mayo) Thibedeau of Rampart, recently joined Doyon Foundation as the Morris Thompson Memorial Golf Classic student coordinator.

Bringhurst is currently studying business administration at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), where he will graduate from in May with a degree in management and organization.

In addition to his studies, Bringhurst is involved in many university and community groups, including the UAF Native Alaskan Business Leaders, UAF School of Management Student Advisory Board, UAF Leadership Program, Model United Nations Alliance, and Interior Alaska Leadership Council.
